Welcome to my classroom!  I have been teaching for 23 years and I have taught  Grade 1 at Kathyrn School for the past 13 years.  I am looking forward to a great first year of school with your children!

Please read with your child at home.  They will enjoy the one on one time.

If you are looking for information about the things that are going on in the classroom or the school, please look under the Classroom Info viewlet.  If you are looking for information about weekly spelling lists, beginning mid September, please look under the Spelling Lists viewlet. You will find useful websites such as online books, math games and other educational sites under the Helpful Websites viewlet.

Some things to remember:

• Please remember to sign you child's agenda each night and they will get a sticker in the morning.  It is very important for you to see their printing progress, as well as is is an excellent communication tool, on the bottom of each day is a small space for messages from home or school.
• Please pack your child enough healthy food for the day.  We have a morning snack, lunch as well as an afternoon snack and we are very busy during the day, so it is not unusual for them to go through a lot of food.
• Please send a water bottle that they can fill and keep on their desk, but please make sure that it is one that will close and does not have a twist top, they tend to spill if not done up properly.  They will be able to fill them from the sink in our classroom as we have no access to water fountains currently.
• Please encourage your child to get lots of sleep.  We have a very busy schedule and they are able to learn their very best when they are well rested.
